FIR held up for attempting to 'sell' Statue of Unity for ₹30,000 cr on OLX

Rajpipla: A body of evidence was enrolled against an obscure individual in Gujarat for setting an online promotion to "sell" the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya in Narmada area for ₹30,000 crore to meet the administration's costs for clinics and clinical framework to battle the coronavirus episode. 



The remembrance to Sardar Patel, at 182 meters, is the world's tallest such structure and has pulled in a few lakh individuals since it was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018. 

"Some obscure individual set a notice on OLX on Saturday expressing he needs to sell the Statue of Unity for ₹30,000 crore to meet the necessity of cash to purchase medical clinics and social insurance gear," a Kevadiya police headquarters official said citing the FIR. 

"The remembrance's specialists came to know about the issue after a paper ran an article, and moved toward police. A cheating and imitation case was enlisted under IPC, Epidemic Diseases Act and Information Technology Act," Inspector PT Chaudhary said. 

Not long after it was posted, the notice was removed the site. 

"Notwithstanding him not being approved to sell government property, this unidentified individual posted the notice on OLX to criticize the legislature and deceive individuals," expressed a discharge from the main executive of the Statue of Unity.
