Association Cabinet Approves Updation Of NPR, Govt Says No Document Required

The National Population Register exercise will be held between April 2020 and September 2020. 



The Union Cabinet on Tuesday affirmed the updation of the National Population Register (NPR) and direct of Census of India 2021, even as fights against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) proceeded the nation over. 

The Cabinet has affirmed a use of Rs 8,754 crore for directing the Census and Rs 3,941 crore for updation of NPR. 

"The Union Cabinet has affirmed a proposition to refresh the NPR. Nobody needs to give any confirmation. Everybody who lives in India will be incorporated," NDTV cited Union Minister Prakash Javadekar as saying. 

NPR information will be utilized for recognizing the recipients of endowments, Livemint cited him as saying. 

The NPR exercise will be held among April and September 2020 in all states and Union Territories, the NDTV report included. Assam will be barred from the activity in light of the fact that the state has recently embraced the National Register of Citizens work out.
